If you don't have anything to teeth on just pull the curtain rod down and chomp away! Molly thought she was quite resourceful using the curtain rod as a teething toy! Also anyone who had been in my classroom in Arlington and commented on how much they liked the black and white photo of Emily in her white hat will appreciate the other two pictures. I tried to recreate this photo with Molly. It didn't work out well at all. She kept crawling away and wouldn't stay in one spot. I think I did that photo with Emily when she was younger than Molly is now. Right before I gave up Molly banged her head against the bed and I got a great pouting/sad face=( I told Andy this one was going in her yearbook!

Twinkies!
I got Emily and Molly matching pjs this summer. Molly's were 12 months so she can finally wear them. They (Emily) thought it was so fun to match. Emily was very excited to be matching, Molly was just excited because Emily was excited! It doesn't take much to get these girls excited!

Aunt Lizzie's Wedding!
Wow- what a party girl. Molly finally passed out around 11:00 or so. We put her in her carseat to sleep during the rest of the wedding reception. I know we are bad parents! Emily however stayed up until the party was over. She was dancing with everyone and had a blast.

Friends, Fireworks, and Hives, Oh My!!!
When we showed up at our friends house for the fourth we noticed Molly had hives on one of her arms. We started checking her out and found that she had hives covering most of both of her thighs. We have no idea what the reaction was to. She just started peas a few days ago. She would be so pleased if she was allergic to peas and never had to eat them again. She isn't thrilled with them, but mom keeps trying to make her like them. Poor girl!! We called her doctor and got her dosage for benadryll and luckily they went away! She is so lucky, no peas for 2 weeks. Doctors orders!!

Happy 4th of July!!!!
Emily wanted me to paint her toes in a pattern. Andy gave her grief about the pattern not flowing from one foot to the next. Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th!

Molly's Mishaps!
Molly got a little too wild yesterday while playing with her gym mat. It ended up falling over. That didn't bother Molly, she continued to kick away!

Molly is practicing her crawling. She pushes herself up and get her knees under her. It won't be long. It is so funny how different it is with the second child. The first child you can't wait until they do stuff the second you want them to slow down and be babies for longer!

Molly shows off her two bottom teeth. They have been around now for about two months and her top two are pushing through.

June 25, 2010

It has been very crazy lately. Sorry it has been so long between updates. As many of you know we are moving back to Topeka, Kansas. I just got back on Sunday after being there for two weeks with the girls. Lots to do when you are moving and taking a new job. We were very busy looking for a new home, getting stuff done for my new job, taking care of a sick baby, and visiting relatives. Exciting news: we have a contract on a house, but it is contingent on our current house selling, so we are crossing our fingers. Many of you have asked what grade I will be teaching. I have accepted a Literacy Coach position so I will not have a specific class or grade level. I will be working with all grades and classes. The school I will be at is Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade. I am looking forward to starting this new chapter in my life. So once things settle down a little bit I will try to post some pictures of the girls.

Emily got a new kite. We took it out for a spin! She would take off running and not even turn around and notice that it was dragging on the ground. Andy looked really manly flying a barbie kite =)

Emily's First Recital.
Emily had her first recital. It was just precious. She did an amazing job. We were worried that she wouldn't even get up on stage. Once she was up there she decided to cheese it up, wave, and give us "huggies" from stage. We were so proud of her. Can't wait until the next one!

Emily's first time bowling. We took Emily bowling for the first time. The bowling alley had bumpers that would go up and down automatically so mom and dad could have some fun as well. The game takes a lot longer when you are bowling with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. They did pretty well. We wondered at times if the ball would actually make it all the way down the lane. On a sad note...Andy beat me by two points=(

We had so much fun at the Baker twins Birthday Party! It was at the farm. They had a hunt for Peter Rabbit, Pony Rides, Hay Rack Rides, followed by pizza and cake. Emily even met a boy she had eyes for (it was the twins cousin!) Luckily Johanna gave her the thumbs up!

Nothing too exciting! We went to the doctor yesterday! Molly weighs 12 lbs 6 oz (25%) she was 24 3/4 inches long (75%) and her head circumference was 15 1/4 inches (5%). I was totally shocked that she has a small head. It looks so round to me?? All good news after a rough week. She has had two teeth breaking through on the bottom and an ear infection.

Molly is close to 4 months old now. She likes to walk everywhere. She is getting pretty upset at just sitting and likes to "walk" when we hold her. She is going to move a mover and a shaker. When I hold her in front of the mirror and bounce she laughs so much. This video doesn't do her walking justice. I will have to try again soon! It is pretty funny to see her lifting up her legs and trying so hard!

I hope that everyone had a Happy Easter! Emily didn't even wake us up this morning before going in to find her basket. She brought it her Strawberry Shortcake video to show us what the Easter bunny had brought her. Later her and Molly dresses up to honor the great Easter Bunny! Oh yeah- I almost forgot to mention how beautifully Emily decorated our Easter cake with the lid to her chick cup...Don't worry, no chicks were harmed in the making of this cake!!

Easter Egg Hunt at Farm Park!
Our first Easter Egg Hunt this year. We pulled up in the car and Emily started to get really worried when she saw the giant Easter Bunny! She said "Let's just get the eggs." Well Mommy and Molly weren't scared of that big bunny!! We got our picture taken with him. The bunny stood up on the hill and put his arms down to let the kids know it was time to go. I said "Come on Emily, Lets go!" She said no I don't want to go see the Easter Bunny. I had to convince her we were going to get eggs not see him.
