Emily's New Do!
I have always prided myself on making sure that Emily knows the rules. Well- she may know the rules, but that doesn't mean that she always follows them. Emily's favorite activity is cutting. For the past few years I have picked up endless scraps of paper all over our house. She has received many compliments from her preschool teachers saying how well she cuts for her age. She has owned her own pair of scissors since she was about 2. We have always discussed how she is only to cut paper, not clothes, hair, furniture, ect. We even talked about how hair dressers go to school to learn how to cut hair. Fast forward to my third day back at work after maternity leave.... I walk in the door and tell Emily to come here so we can do her hair for dance class. Andy kinda laughs and says, "yeah, wait till you see her hair." As she got a little closer I noticed a new fringe above her eyebrows and a layer that fell softly below her chin. Oh my goodness!!! I was so upset. Andy said she went in the other room when he was feeding Molly and she came out and said, "Daddy do you notice anything?" She was pretty proud of her new haircut. Oh well, I am sure I will look back at this and laugh. I do have to say that for a four year old cutting her own hair it could have been much worse!
